A delight for the taste buds in the evening in the charming hotels which we shall reserve for you.
A delight for the cyclist who will discover, as he travels along trails suitable for cycling and numerous purpose-built cycle tracks, the villages bedecked with flowers along the wine route which is overlooked by imposing medieval castles.
You will also have lots of time to visit Strasbourg and Colmar.
Arrival in Strasbourg, settling into the hotel and free time to explore the town. Car Park guarded with fees possible.
1st night, Hotel.
Day 2 : Strasbourg - Sand 60 km or Strasbourg - Huttenheim 62 km
You will leave Strasbourg along the Rhône-Rhine canal which will lead you along its very pretty cycle track into the heart of the Ried.
2nd night, Hotel.
Day 3 : Sand - Colmar 60 km or Huttenheim - Colmar 55 km
You will travel through the landscapes and villages of the Alsatian Ried. which is rich in aquatic flora and fauna. You will have time to visit the very beautiful Baroque church at Ebersmunster before finally returning to Colmar.
3rd night, Hotel.
Day 4 : Colmar - Ottmarsheim 49 or 61 km (Two routes' possibilities)
Passing through pretty sleepy and flower-bedecked villages you will come to Ottmarsheim where you will visit the Romanesque church built on a centred plan as a replica to the basilica of Aachen and dating from the 12th Century grace.
4th night, Hotel.
You will leave the banks of the Rhine and the villages of the Sundgau to go to Guebwiller which nestles in the foothills of the Vosges. No doubt you will have the time to go as far as Murbach and visit the remains of its abbey which is one of the oldest in Alsace.
5th night, Hotel.
Day 6 : Guebwiller - Riquewihr 46 or 53 km (Two routes' possibilities)
At the foot of the Vosges nestle the winemaking villages responsible for the reputation of the Alsatian Grand Crus : Eguisheim, Turkheim, Kaysersberg.
6th night, Hotel.
Day 7 : Riquewihr - Obernai 53 km
Along the wine route you will discover the villages of Boersch, Barr, Andlau and its abbey, Bergheim, Ribeauvillé, Hunawihr.
7th night, Hotel.
Day 8 : Obernai - Strasbourg 30 km
Country roads and cycle tracks will take you from Rosheim (11th Century Romanesque church) to Avolsheim. From there, along the cycle track on the banks of the Bruche canal, you will reach the capital of Europe.
